So contract states r15 blown in at exterior walls. I added some Interior walls to have insulation to help with sound. I believe they were to use r15 blown in the added interior walls…3.5in thick.
Contract states: ext walls blown, 3.5in
Ceilings blown in 10.5in thick r38
Roof to use Batts 5.5in thick r22
I went by the house and saw the insulation on the interior walls..2×4 used batts…so I’m assuming those are r13? 3.5in Batts?
How big of a difference would it be, r15 blown in vs r13 batt? Could it also be r15 batt? The studs are 2×4 and they seem to fit within the 4inch spacing.
Also, can anyone clarify the difference between ceiling, roof, and attic?
The paper brochure also states r38 blown in , in the attic area.
The ceiling in the garage had batt insulation, so I’m assuming those are the 5.5in r22 when they should be blown in r38? what is the space for trusses? The home is 2 story, with a room above garage. Im not sure how filled the space should have been..it SEEMED to be about half, so im assuming its r22 which would be 5.5inch and the space depth is 11? So it should be filled 10.5inches to r38?
I requested a meeting but just wanted to get a bit more information before actually talking/meeting with the builder.
