There is a house in my local market that has come up for sale on and off the past 5 or 6 years. Most recently it came on in April, then dropped 100k in early May (about 7%). It’s a bigger house but some of the finishes are dated and need some touch up or a reno (relative to other houses at the current price point, although this is a bit bigger). I can’t afford the asking (i guess i could, but not comfortably).. but can I make an offer at about 85% of current asking and see if they have any interest? I beleive it came on the market 3 or 4 years ago, had no takers and was rented for 2 years before coming back on the market in April.
