I’m suddenly seeing a bunch of houses in my market with years of neglected maintenance and crazy DIY additions — is this a sign of sudden seller FOMO — last chance to sell the junk at an inflated price?

I swear over half the houses I’ve seen in the past month have weird DIY additions like an extra room built off the back and the room is 3″ higher than the rest of the main floor, or a semi finished attic that is 120 degrees on a sunny day, and the rest of the house looking like its had decades of neglected maintenance.

Maybe this is the stuff that flippers were buying so I seldom saw it but now flippers are cooling on their buying so this stuff is sitting around longer in the inventory?

Some of this shit makes me wish cities enforced much better building codes and cracked down more on unpermitted DIY work — this stuff is crazy.
