My very first agent I ever used to buy my first home was great. He would literally answer calls and texts at any hour of the day. He would be available the same day as we request for showings.
Now my current agent does not work Sundays and only works partially on Saturdays. His showing time frame seems rigid and limited. As a 9-5 worker, those are the only days I am available for showings. Also, my wife works Saturdays until 6pm afternoon. He is unable to accommodate a time so that we can both see the house together. We always have one person go with him because either myself or my wife is at work.
There have been houses flying on then off market within days in my market. We really wanted to see a house but my agent doesn’t work Sundays or late Saturdays. I think he expects me to work around his schedule.
Am I being a spoiled brat or should I expect more from my agent? Maybe our first agent spoiled us too much? Because if I was an agent, I would definitely make weekends available, as I know most home buyers are workers and mostly available on weekends. But that’s just me.
