Details about the situation. i moved in several years ago. Eight years to be exact. The owner of the quad-plex was the grandparents of my sister’s boyfriend. The apartment was not ready. Moving past that, eight years later the grandparents sell the house i believe “as-is” to their children. When the new owner talked to us after taking pictures for appraisal, she informed us in three months a couples things would be changing as we signed a new lease with her.
1.) Rent was going to be going up $100 (Which is still reasonable)
2.) We will have to provide a security deposit equal to the new rent
3.) A couple random rules about no holes allowed with asking, cleaning up dog poop in the yard even thou we have a hundred dogs up and down the road, and some other odds and end things.
ā
I feel like its wrong that the new owners are demanding a security deposit without fixing the place up like they would have to do when they move in a new tenant. If they are in the right let me know please. Ill start looking for a new place where everything will be done correctly as it should be.
