How to inform neighbor they have been mowing a large swath of my property

Preface: this is a rural area and it is essential to maintain good relations.

Prior to me buying my acreage a few years ago, it had sat unused and untended to. The elderly person who lived next door hired someone to mow his property. I suspect this person just mowed where they thought they should.

That house changed owners about 3 years ago. Over time, he has slowly mowed more and more. It’s now at the point where I know I have to say or do something. I think it’s unlikely they know where the actual property line is.

My research with the county shows that they are probably mowing about a 150 x 50 ft swath of my land. I’m thinking I may need to bring in a surveyor and maybe even put in a fence.

From a neighborly perspective, how should I handle it? Keep in mind that people keep to themselves here and I have never talked to the owner.
