Hey everyone, I’m buying a townhouse in MD and the radon inspection turned up results that are twice the epa standards. Obviously this needs to be addressed and fixed.
I’m in Maryland and my inspection was “as is with right to terminate” meaning there is no expectation that the sellers will make fixes, but I have an unconditional right to terminate the contract within 5 days ( currently in the window).
My question is that since this is such a black and white health hazard, can I ask the sellers to reduce the price by $1000 (about the cost of fixing this issue)?
I’ve been in touch with my agent, she hasn’t responded yet but want I other opinions (this is my first time buying a house).
