Signed a contract in Feb for new construction to be built. Gave 5k EM deposit. Contract states that the builder was to have the P&S to us within 2 weeks and they dragged their feet. The contract also stated that we would give an additional 5% deposit at the time we sold our home in April. A week after selling our home- builder calls a meeting stating he needs to charge at least 50k more the same house. I don’t understand how he can do this with a signed contract. Have been contacting lawyers but haven’t heard back from one yet and am just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation?
