We will need to move in about a year to a city about 3 hours away. This new area was already expensive and has had a booming real estate market for years anyway, but with the way things have been it’s a lot crazier. I’ve seen some two bedrooms for around $800k that look like crap. But I’ve also seen some really decent looking houses for about half that. So there might be hope. Maybe.
How do we go about looking into the market and our options in the new area? Do we just call up some agents and/or builders to see what the market is like? Would agents take the time to walk us through everything even if we won’t be ready to buy for around a year, or maybe even never if we just can’t afford this crazy market?
