We made an offer on a home. Their listing agent was difficult and not pleasant to deal with. We wanted that house obviously so we hoped they would accept our offer.
My partner and I continued to make other offers that day at our max price because we are under a time crunch to move.
Their listing agent said they agreed to close last night but we needed to sign a new one. They wanted a 5 day inspection but we gave them their asking price that was under our max price.
Our agent fired over a new contract for us to sign. We were distracted putting our kids down and exhausted. I’m not sure what our agents excuse was but he put in our max price for the adjusted offer.
I was the one that caught it this morning and then asked him to get it fixed so they could sign the offer.
The rest of our day today was dealing with the listing agent saying that they wanted to ask for more money anyway. Even though they agreed to the terms and price which was their asking price the night before.
We’re under contract and upset. But this feels slimy already from the listing agent.
Is this something I should bring up to their broker? Make a formal complaint to someone? Or just a one star review on Google once we close.
