I’m a first time buyer looking in a regional but still somewhat dispersed area. I’d say my area could be up to 85 miles in diameter-ish.
I have family in the area who recommended me to an agent. After speaking to the agent, he recommended me to a lender whom I’ve been in touch with. I want to weigh my options so I’ve spoke with a few other lenders but I want to keep it at about 2-3 max.
The family friend agent isn’t licensed in the state(s) I’m looking at but he said he’d connect me with people that were. I’m in the DC area which has a bunch of states around it. I’m waiting to hear back on his contacts.
In the meantime I reached out to an agent on a property listing. The listing ended up not being a good fit but I seem to hit it off with the agent and she said she’d set me up with somebody to help me look. So I guess I have an agent?
I’m just confused as a new buyer but I am seeming to interact with multiple agents/lenders. I don’t wanna hurt anyone’s feelings especially since some of these are family friends.
I wonder that since my geographic area is semi/broad if it’s OK to have multiple agents… I want to make sure I don’t burn bridges and am respectful/courteous.
For the lender question, if I were to make an offer and go under contract, would it be bad to ask 2-3 of my prequalified lenders for a proposal and then I weigh the options and choose the best?
