I’m throwing this question out here as a very “out the box” thought (and somewhat of a joke), but I’m wondering if anyone has seriously considered this:
Context: I have multiple friends in their low 30’s who are looking to buy homes in metro Detroit. $350k-$450k for a home would be very affordable for them, but they literally can’t get a home due to the current state of the market. (Their problem, not mine)
I jokingly said to 2 of my friends, “you guys should just go in together on an $800k house and shack up”. Upon browsing Zillow, there are endless options and some massive houses that would easily fit 2 couples, a few kids, pets etc… I’m sure their neighbors would hate them.. and it would be a nightmare trying to figure out team dynamics and financing… but has anyone actually tried/considered this???
