My mortgage seems stuck in limbo hell, even though I’ve submitted all my pay stubs and everything else they’ve asked for. Apparently, they still need a formal verification of employment letter from my primary employer, which is a very large company. It is not so simple as calling HR at my local office. They handle all employment verification requests through a specific department that does it all for all the employees throughout the country.
Well, my lender faxed them the verification request and my signed authorization a week ago back on September 7 and they have yet to supply this information. My closing got delayed as a result. Now I have the seller making weird requests like wanting pro-rated utilities and HOA fees. The lender has left several voicemails seeking to expedite the request. I don’t understand why a dedicated department would take so long to do their one job, particularly considering how important these things are.
