I’m selling my house on Long Island, NY (Town of Hempstead) and my buyers’ attorney is requesting a C.O. for my basement bathroom. The bathroom was existing when I closed. I’ve owned the house for 10 years and bought it with an FHA loan. It never came up during my closing and I’ve never heard of this before. No major renovations done on the house since I bought it. I went through my original closing paperwork and couldn’t find anything either.
Does this attorney have any idea what he’s talking about? Thoughts?
