Car accident before house closing

We are 1 month from closing on new house and my wife gets in a car accident ( she was at fault) and totals both car. The other party files bodily claim. Im worried might not be enough to cover and feel like the party is going to sue her.

1.How much of an impact will this have on the underwriters decision to approve loan?

2.No lawsuit has been filed as of yet should I disclose this car accident to loan officer?

Lets say they do file a lawsuit how will underwriter know?

Since my wife might get sued will that affect my chances in securing the loan?
