Can we get our earnest money back?

I verbally accepted a job offer in another state, so we got prequalified and started looking for a house there. By some miracle, we had an offer accepted on a house…but, now it’s looking like we might not be able to go. The loan was contingent on my new job and my partner being able to work remotely, and it’s seeming like my partner will not get permission to work remotely (he had permission, but his boss just said they need to talk through stipulations on working remotely, and HR wasn’t sure he’d be able to work in another state). If the loan falls through because we didn’t meet one of the contingencies, will we get our earnest money back?
