So i have a property I’m trying to sell. I had a buyer back in march. But when the title company went to do the title search. They said i had liens against the property. Upon further research the liens were placed by creditors that i owed money too, but those debts were discharged with my chapter 7 bankruptcy back in May of 2019. The original buyer backed out. I’m working with my bankruptcy lawyer on getting something done about the liens since it goes against the whole “they can’t try and collect on their debt” because of my bankruptcy. Also if it matters the liens were placed right before i filed for bankruptcy.
So to my question, since i have these liens that i know/hope? Will eventually be resolved with my lawyer. If i have someone i know willing to pay cash for the property can i just quit claim deed it over to him?
If so, what are the possible repercussions for me the seller and the buyer?
If not, what is the best course of action?
Thank you in advance for any help and information.
Edit: updated spelling. Won’t let me edit title though. idk where my brain was at for “quick” claim. Need more coffee.
