I currently work in a different state than the one I live in, and I commute every week to work, staying overnight during the week.
I’d like to buy a house in a third, completely different state than the one I live or work in now. I want to continue to commute during the week, not changing my employment at all.
From what I’ve been reading about getting mortgage, a lender won’t like seeing me trying to buy a house so far from my employer without a work from home arrangement.
How can I get a lender to approve this? I’ve heard lenders require letters from employers when relocating for work from home or when relocating as required, but that’s not really the applicable in this situation. I’m not trying to commit occupancy fraud, I really do plan to live there when I’m not working.
