My wife and I have been renting a house in Seattle and our landlord recently offered to sell us the house. Based on the insane market here, we immediately agreed although we have not negotiated a price yet. We figured that getting the chance to buy in Seattle off market without any competition is the best way for us to get into the market here.
We are looking on advice on how to do this because we do not have a buyers agent and our landlord does not have a sellers agent. We did view a couple of houses with an agent acquaintance of ours and she offered to do the paperwork for us for 2% of the sale price. This seems ridiculous considering the price of the home. Is there a cheaper way that we can get this done?
