Cross posted from First time home buyer. In Illinois if that matters
Hello all,
Well after over a year of searching, literally the last house we looked at before giving up accepted our offer (for asking even!). One problem, we are FHA and the inspection is Friday. House is recently updated with things done as recent as 2019. The problem is the garage.
It is…not great. The floor is cracked all over and uneven, some of the cracked parts come 2-4 inches out up over the other side (I hope this description helps), the windows are ancient and the wood around them appears to be falling apart, and it looks like some kind of creature chewed through the normal door on the garage. Overall we don’t care much about it (unless that damage is termite related) but we are unsure if we can expect this to be a ding on the inspection, if so the purchase is basically sunk because the seller is not going to be putting anything into it.
Oh and there is a very very old sheet metal shed on the far back of the property. Is likely going to need to be removed (I mean we will do so eventually anyway)?
If anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate it!
Thanks!
