Hi there. We closed on the sale of our house yesterday (yay!). But, our buyers have been asking their agent questions through our agent. And its not even anything big (eg. how do we reset the code on the electronic lock?) I left instructions for the lock on the counter, with a note saying how to reset the code. But apparently they still can’t figure it out.
They are also convinced that we took a remote for the ceiling fan, which we never did. We had installed a remote holder on the wall for a new fan we never even ended up installing. Therefore, the current fan that is there doesn’t have a remote (and never did). They saw the empty remote holder and are convinced we took it.
I texted my agent back and said we left the instructions for the lock, and explained the fan remote situation. But they came back saying that “the remote is proprietary and hard to replace”. EVEN IF THE REMOTE WAS THERE IT WOULDN’T WORK FOR THE CURRENT FAN. UGH. After explaining this for a second time, I told my agent that it is no longer our house, therefore not our problem. Is that rude? It isn’t my problem if they can’t figure out how to reset the lock code. I left the instructions and full manual, including the box it came in. They also have a key to the door, so it isn’t like they can’t get in.
