Hi, first-time home buyer here. We haven’t chosen an agent yet but it’s my understanding that buyer-agent agreements are generally exclusive. We also have the option of buying our current place as a private sale from our current landlord. Is this a scenario we could exclude from a buyer-agent agreement?
Not trying to waste an agent’s time but we are hesitant to sign any agreement when this private sale is on the table due to the fact that it would be much less costly without factoring in a commission. We are genuinely considering all our options and our current home happens to be one of them.
