I have an offer on my house that is higher than I expected, but it is contingent on the house appraising at that amount (minus $15,000 that the buyers are willing to add to an appraisal to help make up the difference). My question is, do lender / bank appraisals tend to be on the high side to help make a sale happen? Or are they are the low side?
