We are currently under contract to sell our home with closing date of 8/10. We are just waiting for the appraisal to happen. Buyer has already requested and paid for the appraisal, but no one has contacted our agent yet to set up the appointment. We asked our agent if there was a deadline for the appraisal or what happens if it doesn’t get appraised before the closing date and the best answer we got was “it has to be appraised before closing, don’t worry about that”.
So, what happens to our closing date if they can’t get an appraisal scheduled before said closing date? Does the date get pushed? What options do sellers have to cancel any contract if they don’t meet the dates?
We really want to be sold and moved before September and with dates being very up in the air, we can’t solidly plan Airbnb stays etc and it is stressing us out!
