I’ve been assisting an agent part time, and I’m kinda disappointed with loss of paperwork and possibly money by having to manage a bunch of change orders. I don’t think it’s necessarily the agent’s fault. I think much of the problem is because a lot of these things are still done by paper, pen and excel.
How do yall keep track of change orders? One of the biggest issue is that when a customer has more than one change order, the construction manager actually forwards the entire list of change orders to the sub and information is lost. They’re relying on that the sub will go through all of them. I’ve been trying to write summaries as soon as a new change order is made, but it’s a tedious task.
Is there an app for this? Or do you think an app would even help? I heard the construction industry is usually behind in tech, but I wasn’t sure if this was one of those cases.
