Any way around the 2 year work history requirement

So I just got a mortgage so i have been learning some things along the way. One of which is you need a 2 year work history to get a mortgage. I was telling this to my sister that was thinking about getting a house soon but she doesn’t have a 2 year history. She asked if there were two people on the mortgage and they both had 1 year work history if that would suffice. I told her probably not but I’m not an expert. So would that be sufficient to get a mortgage? Are there any types of loans that don’t require the 2 years?
