Are Sellers required to disclose if somebody died inside the house?
We closed on a condo last month. It was an estate sale so we kind of figured the homeowner passed away and their daughters were selling the condo. Well after talking to the neighbor, it is quite possible the previous homeowner could of actually passed in the house itself.
First week in the condo my fiancé says the bathroom drawer was wide open all the way, when she 100% knows everything was shut when leaving.
That same week, she notices the same thing but with the kitchen drawer for forks, spoons, etc.
Okay so she told me about these two events happening and I go take a look at the drawers themselves. I admit they are not loose or anything and actually quite difficult to open without a small tug.
Anyways I tell her everything is fine and we have bigger stuff to worry about them ghosts, like a new furnace for example.
Then TODAY was my first taste of what she is talking about. I was home alone as she was at work and I kid you not, I’m sitting in my office and I literally see the desk filing cabinet door open by itself.
For this to happen in three separate rooms….do we have any recourse if they did not disclose anything about this?
