Am I really stuck with buying this house? [NY]

Just did a walkthrough with closing scheduled on Tues. The house was fine before aside from a couple things we asked to be fixed. Seller said he fixed it all (and it’s in the contract) and one of them was to seal the siding or else water would seep through. This guy is a contractor and he put some tape on the wall, which did nothing and now there’s black mold that seeped into the garage from the siding which was noy there before. Another room has a sloping floor which they’re trying to claim was always there yet when I saw it, my wife saw it, my realtor saw it, and my inspector saw it it was not unless we’re all blind. He didn’t do the other fixes he said he would either.

This seems to me like a money pit so even if he does the fixes I don’t want it since he couldn’t even do the basics and seal the siding properly. My lawyer says we have to give him the chance to remediate although I don’t understand as he’s already failed to live up to his end. We’re also past the contract expiration date (seller’s fault as he took longer to get permits and didn’t do the well water test within 10 days of signing as dictated by the contract and NY state law). How many more chances does he get to screw up? I’m not dealing with someone who’s acting in good faith and now I have no trust in his work and he’s violated the contract multiple times. Wondering if there are any avenues I should consider to get out of this.
