Currently single guy closing on a 3b2b home in Phoenix, Arizona. I have almost no other bills (no other debt, work pays for healthcare.) Hobbies are distance running so low expenses there too. Do the numbers below make sense?
Home price: 430k
Mortgage: $2400 a mo, 30yr fixed, VA
Rate: 5.125%
Income: $118k a year
Savings left in reserves: Approx $30k
Down payment: N/A – No down payment or PMI
It’s a decent home in a quiet neighborhood close to work (biggest priorities.) I’m getting transferred for work and will own the home for at least 5-10 years. I just don’t want to be “house poor” because I got what I wanted.
