First time buyer in MD with closing day set for Tuesday. We didn’t have the best experience with our first inspector (hired through our realtor) who the realtor wanted to have reinspect for the fixes in our contract the day of closing. We went to the house for furnishing measurements and found several cigarette butts left inside on the wood floor so we decided we really wanted to make sure the fixes written into our contract were up to snuff and hired a different inspector for the re-inspection .
Our realtor’s reaction to this information was to call multiple times and send maybe 10 text messages and 2 emails all within the span of 15 minutes. She said we couldn’t get it re-inspected as it’s not in the contract. Then after a lot of huffing and puffing she finally said she would only let us in for 45 minutes the day before closing and it would also count as our final walkthrough.
Is there any way to push back on this? Our realtor is unhinged and giving me all kinds of red flags but we’re all barely holding onto our sanity at this point. Thanks for any help or advice!
